Our Approach
Our Environment
We recognise that many neurodivergent children experience chronic stress within traditional educational settings, often struggling with sensory overload and rigid expectations.
Butterfly Grove has been intentionally designed to feel different. We prioritize regulation through the environment itself, ensuring children feel safe and supported.
Key Priorities:
- Low sensory load & emotional safety
- Small stable cohorts & stable support
- Predictable routines & transition ease
- Access to outdoor & flexible spaces
Our Focus:
- Co-regulation & Connection
- Curiosity & Understanding
- Respectful Boundaries
- Collaborative Problem Solving
Behaviour As Communication
We view behaviour through a relational lens, understanding that distress behaviors often reflect overwhelm, anxiety, or unmet needs. We aim to create a space where children feel safe enough to be authentic rather than constantly masking.
Meaningful Learning
We support children to develop academically at their own pace. By recognizing that every pathway is different, we provide high-capability learners with the environment they need to flourish without overwhelming them.
Support & Autonomy
Executive functioning support combined with creativity and autonomy.
Flexible Pacing
Interest-based engagement and small-group targeted teaching.
Real-World Focus
Meaningful project-based learning connected to the real world.
Working In Partnership With Families
We value honest, respectful partnerships with parents and caregivers. After difficult educational experiences, our goal is to create a supportive learning community where families feel heard, informed, and genuinely understood alongside their children.
